Important limitations and disclosures about our audio testing tools
Please read this Disclaimer carefully before using any tool on onlinesoundtest.pages.dev. By using the Site, you acknowledge and agree to the limitations described below.
1. General Disclaimer
The audio testing tools on SoundTest are provided for informational, educational, and entertainment purposes only. While we strive for accuracy and quality, we make no representations or warranties — express or implied — that the results produced by our tools are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
All tools run entirely within your browser using the Web Audio API. The accuracy of any result is inherently limited by:
- The quality and frequency response of your speakers or headphones
- The quality and drivers of your sound card or audio interface
- Your browser's implementation of the Web Audio API
- Ambient noise in your testing environment
- Your operating system's audio mixing and processing
2. Medical & Hearing Health Disclaimer
If you have any concerns about your hearing — including difficulty understanding speech, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), sudden hearing changes, or any ear pain — you should seek advice from a qualified audiologist, ear nose and throat (ENT) specialist, or other licensed healthcare professional.
Online hearing tests are inherently limited. A clinical audiological assessment conducted with calibrated equipment in a sound-treated booth is the only reliable method for diagnosing hearing loss.
3. Binaural Beats Disclaimer
The binaural beats generator produces audio at different frequencies in each ear to create a perceived beating effect. While binaural beats are widely used for relaxation and focus, we make no medical claims about their effectiveness. Additionally:
- Binaural beats should not be used while driving, operating machinery, or in any situation requiring full attention
- Individuals with epilepsy, seizure disorders, or hearing implants should consult a doctor before use
- If you experience discomfort, dizziness, or headaches, stop using the tool immediately
4. Accuracy of Test Results
Our tools use standard web technologies and are designed to provide reasonable approximations useful for everyday audio troubleshooting. They are not calibrated measurement instruments and should not be used as a substitute for professional audio analysis equipment in professional or critical applications.
Specific limitations by tool:
- Frequency sweep / tone generator: Actual output frequencies may vary slightly due to browser audio engine rounding
- Audio latency test: Results depend heavily on browser audio scheduling precision; reported latency is an estimate
- Spectrum analyzer: FFT resolution is limited by the browser's Web Audio API implementation
- Mic test: Sensitivity and level readings are relative to your microphone hardware and OS gain settings
5. Third-Party Analytics and Advertising
This Site uses Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Microsoft Clarity to understand usage patterns and to display advertisements that help fund the free operation of the Site. These services operate independently of SoundTest and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. SoundTest is not responsible for the content of advertisements served by Google AdSense.

- Your reliance on audio test results from this Site
- Delays in seeking professional medical or audiological advice
